Outside Stone Sculpture

Created in the 80's and placed at a residence in Lebanon, OR. A study in form and mass (in my opinion failed) for outside viewing. The work appeared to be way to busy and never seemed to settle or appear complete. The piece was destroyed by vandals in the late 90's and fittingly is now complete!

Rebar Portrait

Rebar, welding rod and chunks of 1/4" metal plates. Trees again is a subject of interest. In this case after work was completed - I completely sealed the work in plastic resin.

One piece - Cedar beam
Sun, Tree theme
One solid piece of cedar, use to be a beam at the Albany Saw mill that burned down in the 1960's. It was a 18" x 18"  beam about 6' Tall when I started. Hand carved with mallet and carving tools. The sphere is stained with acrylic yellow paint. The rest of the body was slight torched to get out the grain. Then as I have done with many of my art pieces I coated it with polyester resin.
This work is owned by Don Blevins who currently resides in Bakersfield, California.

Walnut, Pine and Rosewood Wall Sculpture

This piece was created in 1989 through 1991.

Displayed at the Federal Justice Center in Portland Oregon for three months in 2001. It was over eighteen feet long and four feet high with a depth of twenty four inches.

After the display in the Justice Center, it was hung out in the forest in Mulino along with other artwork I had created. I have felt that some artwork is temporary, this particular period of artwork was subject to this theory, so it was allowed to eventually fall apart or was destroyed. Since I created over 250 pieces of art between 1986 and 1991 not all were sold or kept, but I documented it with pictures to assure the creative process was documented.
